The vine Neretto di Bairo (also known as Neretto) has been present from time immemorial in the Canavese, but its origins are unknown. It is a vine that presents objective difficulties in terms of cultivation, especially in the production and inconstancy due to low yields.
Despite this, the Neretto di Bairo is a variety that can provide quality grapes, which at the time of vinification is less acidic and more balanced than the Barbera cultivated in the same area. The vine, as well as in Canavese (municipalities of Bairo, Valperga, St. George) is also present in the Pinerolo, although with more modest extensions.
The berry is black, medium-large, ellipsoid with waxy, thick enough skin of blue-black color. The bunch is medium, cylindrical, winged, and compact with a medium, pentagonal, three-lobed leaf.
The Neretto di Bairo vine has high vigor and high average age of maturity; the productivity is low and not very constant, also because of the sensitivity of the cluster mold.
The vine Bold Bairo gives an intense ruby-red wine, of delicate scent and body though not very alcoholic; balanced, to be drunk young.
Currently, we do not stock any wine, please come back later, we constantly add new wines.
